WAX
It’s advised that you stop using any acid products or skin peels around 3 to 4 days before your waxing appointment. This will help to prevent post-waxing skin irritation.
Avoid exposure to the Sun or sunbeds since this will increase skin sensitivity.
To soothe and protect and protect the skin, apply an antiseptic cream to the waxed area regularly for 3 days following your treatment.
Additionally, if you’re currently taking/using any of the following…
- Blood thinning medication
- Oral medication for acne
- A medicated facial exfoliant
…you may want to consult your doctor before booking an appointment, as these can all interfere with the skin’s sensitivity.
SPRAY TAN
A spray tan usually lasts for about 7 days. After 4-5 days we recommend you have a warm bath and lightly exfoliate to ensure your tan fades evenly.
Spray tan solution is designed to stop developing after 8 hours so it is no problem leaving it on for longer. An express tan should not be left on for more than 3 hours.
We recommend exfoliating and moisturising thoroughly at least 24 hours before the spray tan, with special attention to elbows, knees, heels and hands. We also suggest shaving or waxing at least 24 hours before. For best results it’s best to shower before your spray tan to ensure no moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or make-up is left on the skin.
We do not recommend having a spray tan before/after the following treatments: waxing, tinting, eyelash extensions, LVL or make-up. For facials and massage, all product on the skin would need to be thoroughly washed off before your spray tan. You can have nail treatments in the same appointment as a spray tan.
You should not have a spray tan in your first trimester of pregnancy. In the rest of your pregnancy, spray tans are perfectly safe.

Do nail extensions cause damage to the natural nail?
As long as the extensions are applied correctly by a qualified and experienced nail technician, and removed safely then no damage will be caused to the natural nail.
I always use high quality products and take great care to ensure that your natural nail is kept in good condition at all times.
Do I ever need to have my nail extensions removed to let my natural nail breathe?
This is an old wives tale. Your natural nails are not alive and don’t need to breathe, they don’t have lungs!
Your natural nail is made from keratin, which is a protein, consisting of dead skin cells, and is the same stuff that makes your hair. So you can keep up with your nail extensions for as long as you like.
Is it possible for a nail biter to have nail extensions?
Do natural nails need to grow before having nail extensions?
No, this is the beauty of having nail enhancements.
When you have a full set, your natural nails need to be quite short, so that when the tip or sculpting form is applied to your natural nail, it can give the perfect fit. The tips are then cut to the required length and shaped.
Do I really need an infill appointment?
As the natural nail grows, new nail plate appears at the cuticle creating a gap between the cuticle area and the nail enhancement. The enhancement starts to look unnatural, becomes unbalanced (or top heavy) and is more likely to break. Cracks can also appear. Infilling involves re-balancing the new growth area and re-shaping the nail to strengthen it and return its natural appearance. Cracks can be repaired at the same time. You should book a set of maintenance appointments at your initial appointment to ensure your nails are in tip top condition at all times.
I have a fungal nail infection, can I still get my nails done?
NO. You must consult your GP.
Symptoms of an infection include:
-
Pain, redness, itching, and pus in or around the nail area.
-
Yellow-green, green, and green-black nail discolorations are signs of a Pseudomonas bacterial infection.
-
A blue-green discoloration signals a fungal infection.
